La Velodyssee- Day 4

Today was the morning when Nicola had to go back home. She was driving from campsite to campsite and meeting me for lunch for the first 3 days riding…aswell as cooking the dinner and breakfast! So it’s a solo run from here!

Day 4 started cold, windy but bright, and fortunately the wind was at my back all day. Another run straight down the canal and the River Oust.

Unfortunately my Garmin (sat nav and cycling computer) gave up the ghost 35K into the day so I had to record the rest of the ride, and navigate, on my phone. This was not too much of a problem as the route is pretty simple at the moment as we head towards Nantes on the canal.

Not the most pleasing lines but at least it’s a boat!

The route was flat-slightly downhill all the way so I managed to cover just under 90 kilometres for the day. The Achilles’ tendon is still niggling but with easy riding at the moment I am hoping for the best.

Home sweet home

Anyway I made it to the campsite in one piece but can’t find my cutlery so will have to eat my pasta with a penknife a couple of tyre levers and a pair of pliers!
