After a thoroughly relaxing rest day it was a slow start on Sunday. Nic dropped me back at around 12:30 pm so by the time I was sorted it was after 1:00 pm. An easy ride on a nice route to the fabulous La Rochelle.

I didn’t stop for too long as I was aiming to push on to Rochefort another 52 kilometres.

The ‘new’ marina at La Rochelle is the largest in Europe. The picture shows around half of it. Like a forest of sailing masts! It is huge!
At my rest stop I checked out the camping options at Rochefort and it didn’t look good so I decided to take a strategic detour to Fournas to camp there for the night. It gave me a shorter day in the saddle which is good for the 100 kilometres that is in the agenda for tomorrow.

La Rochelle looks lovely how about a day trip when I’m over?
